For three days every May, BBQ Gods from around the world descend upon Memphis to compete in one of the most prestigious barbecue competitions in the world. Two hundred thirty-five barbecue competitors from 22 states and five foreign countries come together to battle it out for prize money, bragging rights and the title of Grand Champion. Despite the high stakes and hard work, Memphis in May is also a place for comraderie, great food and a whole lot of fun. It's a wonderful reminder of how barbecue brings people together and helps create memories around the grill.
