Grilling can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be, but there are some things every Weber gas grill owner should know. Here are the top 5 things you need to know about your gas grill.
#1) ALWAYS LEAK TEST A NEW GRILL – It’s become very common for new grill owners to have their grill built by the store they bought it from. And who can blame them? It’s very convenient, but there’s one really important thing to make sure you do, even if the grill was built for you, and that’s a gas leak test. In the owner’s manual for every Weber gas grill is a section for performing a gas leak test that should be done before lighting up the grill for the first time. Click here to find our manuals online.
#2) REGISTER YOUR GRILL! – Registering your grill is how you activate your warranty. Until your grill is registered in our system you don’t really have warranty coverage on the unit. Protect your investment and register it right when you bring it home from the store. For more reasons on why it’s a good idea to register your grill click here. To register your grill, click here.
#3) DON’T STORE ANYTHING FLAMMABLE IN YOUR CABINET – Certain Weber models have cabinets under the grilling area. Make sure that anything you decide to store in the cabinet is not flammable or combustible, and make sure its placement won’t affect the grease management system.
#4) ALWAYS TURN OFF YOUR FUEL SOURCE – A lot of people turn off the control knobs on their grill when they are done using it, but don’t turn off their propane tank or their natural gas supply line. For safety reasons, it’s really important to turn off the fuel source. Click here to learn more about why you should shut off the fuel to your grill.
#5) KEEP IT CLEAN – Keeping the inside of your grill clean is the single most important thing you can do to keep it running well, help it last as long as possible, and keep it safe to use. Check out our videos on basic grill cleaning for some great tips.
