Frequently Asked Questions

A1. The new Q grill has more room and more heat for cooking than previous Q2200 grill models.

·      15% more volume under the lid

·      14% larger cooking area (320 sq. in vs 280 sq. in)

·      50% more BTU’s (18,000 vs 12,000)

The “+”/”plus” is designed to extend the temp range of the grill. The main/”Q” burner will achieve Low/Med/High temp set points of 300°F/400°F/500°F but if you want to extend the temp range, say reach 700°F for exceptional sear marks then you would use the main burner and the “plus” burner. Conversely if you want to cook in the low and slow range (~250°F) then you would only use the “plus” burner.

The side tables can with hold up to 15 lbs with minimal deflection.

The metal slots inside the lid and the plastic slots on the rear cradle are designed to work with your Weber Connect Accessories.

·      The inside lid is designed to hold your ambient probe. Instead of mounting the ambient probe on your cooking grates, we have designed the lid to hold your ambient probe thus giving you a semi-permanent mounting location for your ambient probe.

·      The rear cradle slots are designed to hold the Weber Connect probe cord wraps. Simply slide the cord wrap into the slots and then warp your probe cable onto the cord warp to keep them tightly organized.

No. Weber does not recommend using a 1lb tank adaptor because the hi BTU’s of the grill (18,000) may impact the performance of the 1lb tank. The higher the BTU of a grill the lower the performance of the 1lb disposable tank.

Q 2800N+ Gas Grill is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 161.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, but not great. Overall pretty happy with this grill. We replaced a Q2200 with this Q2800N+. Pros - Heat control seems to be improved. Larger cooking surface with only a slight increase in overall size. Second burner offers additional temperature control. Cons - Will not reach advertised max temperature on a slightly windy day. For a portable grill the grease tray should be secured. Traveling with this grill in the bed of a truck, the grease tray will blow out. This required adding wire ties to hold the grease tray in. Plastic clip on side shelves are flimsy and do not match the price of the grill. Overall ok, but disappointed in the grease tray and side shelves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but 3-items. Needs work in: 1. Keep side flip-up trays like on Q1200 models. 2. Spark ignition or gas ignition to center burner needs improvement, too much time delay. 3. Gas line fitting from hose to grill is not identified by size/type, pls. Share that info. Having griddle on one side and grill on other are great work! (Had to purchase griddle separately.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect As a new owner of the Weber Q2800N+, I can confidently say that this grill addresses the few issues I had with the traditional Q models while retaining most of their advantages. One of the standout improvements is the addition of a second burner. This feature allows the grill to reach very high temperatures, even in cooler weather, which was a challenge with the smaller Q models. The secondary burner also provides the flexibility to cook at lower temperatures, in the 225-250 degree range, making it suitable for low and slow cooking. However, it's important to note that the secondary burner is positioned directly in the center of the grill without any shielding, which can create a hot spot that might cause burning if not monitored closely. Another change is the design of the side tables. Unlike the legacy units where the tables were on a hinge and could fold in and out, the Q2800N+ requires the tables to be snapped into place and removed for transport. This is less convenient compared to the folding tables of the older models. Overall, despite these minor issues, I have been very happy with the Weber Q2800N+. It offers great performance and versatility, making it a valuable addition to my outdoor cooking setup.
