Grill-Roasted New Potatoes Recipe from Weber's Real Grilling™ by Jamie Purviance

Grocery List

Fresh Produce

  • 5 sprigs fresh rosemary, each 5 to 6" long
  • 2 lb new potatoes, each about 1½" in dia

Oil and Spices

  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • .5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • .5 tsp kosher salt

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary leaves
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds new potatoes, each 1½ to 2 inches in diameter, scrubbed and quartered

Instructions

  1. Prepare the grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°F).

  2. In a medium bowl combine the oil, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Add the potatoes and stir to coat them evenly. Brush the cooking grates clean. Grill the potatoes over direct medium heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until tender and browned on all sides, 15 to 20 minutes, scooping and turning with a wide spatula every 5 minutes or so. Remove from the grill and transfer the potatoes to a serving bowl. Serve warm.

I like these too, but........

One of my other fav recipes is to just cut your potatoes into bite size pieces, in a bowl toss with a couple tbls of veggie oil, some season salt, garlic powder, cayan pepper, and kosher salt and pepper, then put into double wrapped aluminum foil pack and throw on grill, indirect for about an hour while you're cooking your meat, and walla, amazing with a lil sour cream on top.

No flavor. Wrong cooking time.

This recipe is terrible. Cut your potatoes tiny, if you want any hope of this working.
